Disability Awareness Day

On Monday, colleagues partnered with Lexington House at the Elkhart County Fair for the Disability and Special Groups Day. We had an informational booth describing the Clubhouse International model, with our own two local clubhouses as examples.

We had a table set up with the Plinko board and Clubhouse literature. We got swamped! People were standing in line to have a turn at the board game. As participants anticipated where the puck would land, colleagues would share info on the Clubhouses, including the special events at each Clubhouse. Prizes included Cora Dale t-shirts, hats, Lexington House merch, candy, and other prizes.

We promoted our newsletters and all the fun social recreations happening for the month. Lexington House promoted their Flutter Fest event, happening on August 17th from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Wellfield Botanic Gardens. If you’d like to

Although the day was hot, we stayed busy spreading awareness about our awesome Clubhouses. All in all we had a wonderful day and were able to give away plenty of literature and prizes. We hope to make our booth an annual part

of the fair.
