Maureen Gill has dedicated 12 years to Clubhouse, including seven years as a faculty member. She also serves as a mental health technician, demonstrating her deep commitment to supporting individuals with mental health challenges.
Her extensive experience has provided her with the opportunity to visit Clubhouses across the U.S. and internationally. Her travels have taken her to locations such as Massachusetts, Florida, Dublin, and Munich. These visits have allowed her to observe valuable practices, including rolling silverware in cloth napkins and more efficient methods for attendance tracking.
One of the more interesting practices she has observed is at Gateway Clubhouse, where a self-sustaining lunch program generates enough revenue to purchase the ingredients used, which also enables two lunch times to accommodate all members.
Looking toward the future, Maureen is pursuing her Masters of Social Work (MSW) to enhance her ability to help others while earning a livable wage. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her cats.
