On March 31st, the Clubhouse traveled to Elkhart to volunteer at the Faith Mission. In attendance were Amy, Michael, Vera, Corey, Myron, Laura, Shania, and Mindy.
Faith Mission is an interdenominational Christian social service agency that provides food, shelter, clothing, and other essential resources to under-resourced individuals in Elkhart County. Volunteering opportunities are open to anyone interested in making a difference—those interested can contact Vera Swihart at (574) 293-3406 ext. 103.
Volunteering at Faith Mission is a meaningful way for Clubhouse members to give back to the community. It fosters a sense of purpose, builds social connections, enhances mental and physical health, and offers valuable opportunities for skill development.
During our time serving, Clubhouse members were touched by the gratitude expressed by those they served. Many members of the community took the time to say thank you and show their appreciation. These moments of connection created opportunities for genuine conversations and helped strengthen the bonds between the volunteers and the community.
